05/18/20 JCUA Public Notice - Western Regional Water System Facilities Plan Update

The Jackson County Utility Authority has prepared a Western Regional Water System Facilities Plan Update, outlining the needs of the Authority’s water system in Western Jackson County and recommending selection of facilities to be constructed. Possible sources of funding for these projects include loans from the State of Mississippi Drinking Water Improvements State Revolving Loan Fund. An online public hearing for the Facilities Plan will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020, at 2:00 P.M.
Topics to be discussed at the hearing include: alternatives considered and the facilities to be built, why they are needed, where they will be built, how much they will cost, the average monthly user charge, landowners/properties affected by acquisition of property, easements, and rights-of-way, and the environmental impacts.
The Water System Facilities Plan may be viewed at the following link: (JCUA Water System Facilities Plan Update), or in printed form at the Jackson County Utility Authority Office, 1225 Jackson Avenue, Pascagoula, Mississippi 39567, during normal office hours.
The public is invited to review and voice any comments regarding the project alternatives, environmental review documentation, and other information included in the Facilities Plan.
