EUD Customers Source Water Changes

Notice for EUD Customers about possible impacts resulting from source water changes and flushing operations.

For clarification for those that are still not sure, this includes those customers north of the Escatawpa River along Hwy 63 and Hwy 613 up to the Three Rivers area. JCUA also supplies water to those in the Helena area that are within the Helena Utilities District, but that system is isolated from the Moss Point water system and was not impacted by the recent water loss seen in the EUD area.

As JCUA performs flushing operations and changes the flow direction within the EUD, the water from your tap may temporarily appear yellowish and may even have a smell. These impacts may not be seen by all customers, but for those that do see it, this is caused by the presence of iron oxide which builds up in pipes over time and is dislodged by pressure changes or by changes in the direction that water flows within the system.

JCUA will be performing flushing operations throughout the EUD to remedy these issues, but to facilitate these operations and to make them even smoother for EUD customers, if you notice a change in your water's appearance, please contact JCUA on our website at www.jcua-ms.us/contact-us or by calling Customer Service at 228-762-0119 Ext. 1.

Thank you for your patience as we strive to serve the EUD water system with high-quality water that consistently meets or exceeds your pressure expectations going forward.
